After completing my Masters of Biomedical Sciences at Ghent University, I joined the Taghon Lab in October  2022 as a PhD student and Academic Assisting Personnel (AAP). I investigate HSPC differentiation towards megakaryocytes and platelet production. The overall goal is to load the megakaryocytes with anti-tumor agents to enhance tumor killing. If successful, this novel technology could help in the treatment of cancer patients. This research is a collaboration between the Taghon Lab and the Transfusion Research Center (TReC) of the Red Cross Flanders.
